Orca sightings and recommendations

Recent reported orca sightings can be found on the Orca Iberica website.
Current recommended tactics in response to the approach of a pod of orcas include:

• Remove your hands from the wheel as rudders are a common target
• Taking down sails
• Turning off all sonar and noise making systems
• Remain out of sight of the orcas
• Stop the engine
• Go astern if conditions allow
